Leader Kolb thanks Committee, pledges to continue fighting for a stronger economy, more jobs, lower taxes and real mandate relief for local governments and taxpayers

The Ontario County Republican Committee has endorsed Assembly Republican Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,I,C-Canandaigua) for re-election to the State Assembly’s 131st District in the elections this fall. Leader Kolb is running for re-election to the State Assembly in the new 131st District, which includes Ontario and Seneca counties.

“Public service is a public trust – and I am honored to once again receive the trust, endorsement and support of the Ontario County Republican Committee. The Committee’s endorsement of my proven record of leading the fight for a more affordable state and making Albany more accountable to the taxpayers is proof that together, we are making a positive difference for a better New York,” Leader Kolb said.

Leader Kolb was elected to the State Assembly during a Special Election in 2000 and has been overwhelmingly returned to public office by his constituents ever since. Kolb was chosen as Conference Leader by his Republican colleagues in April of 2009, and was unanimously re-elected to the leadership position. As one of only four Legislative Leaders in state government, Kolb serves as the principal spokesperson for the second-largest Legislative Conference in Albany representing over six million New Yorkers from every region of the Empire State.

As Assemblyman, and as Leader of the Assembly Republican Conference, Kolb has emphasized policy solutions, bi-partisan cooperation, along with restoring a civil, professional discourse that has changed the harsh partisan tone of Albany and ended years of legislative gridlock and dysfunction. Kolb’s results-based leadership, pro-jobs, pro-reform voting record and tireless advocacy of Second Amendment Constitutional freedoms have been publicly recognized. Some of Leader Kolb’s recognitions include:

• Received pro-jobs rating of 92 from the Business Council of NYS;
• Earned highest score (97) of any Legislative Leader from Unshackle Upstate;
• Recipient of FLCC Distinguished Alumni Award;
• Named to NY Farm Bureau Circle of Friends;
• Honored by NYS Rifle & Pistol Association and S.C.O.P.E.; and
• Named a “Hero of Reform” by the good government group NY Uprising

“I want to thank Chairman Dutcher, the Executive Committee, and the entire Committee membership, for this important endorsement, as well as their continued support and personal friendship. With the backing of our Ontario County Republican Committee, I will continue working hard, keep providing real leadership, and advancing smart solutions to improve the quality of life for our Finger Lakes community and entire state,” Leader Kolb stated.

“We have achieved a great deal of progress – but it will take much more work to truly transform Albany. Our economy needs more jobs and economic development, job creators and families need lower taxes and fewer regulations, Albany needs true transparency, and local governments and taxpayers need real mandate relief. These will continue to be the issues I will champion as an Assemblyman for the 131st district, and as the Assembly Republican Leader,” Kolb concluded.

Earlier this month, Leader Kolb announced his bid for re-election during an official campaign kickoff held in communities throughout the 131st Assembly District. More news and announcements regarding Leader Kolb’s re-election campaign will be coming soon.
